Upper Blue River Watershed Initiative

The Upper Blue River Watershed Initiative (funded by the US EPA) was an 18-month joint effort between the Johnson County Stormwater Management Program, Kansas City , Missouri , and Jackson County . The plan incorporates the vision and experience of numerous local staff, elected officials, and experts from two states, three counties, and eight municipalities within the watershed.

The plan describes the watershed vision and the sustainable watershed management strategies in the first fifteen pages of the document. The appendices and figures include more detailed information to support the strategies and to guide future implementation efforts. The specific implementation measures outlined in this document are needed to integrate regional and local actions to produce meaningful watershed protection and to protect green infrastructure at a watershed scale.
